Call for Research Poster Submissions

The 2026 Western Canada First Responders’ Mental Health Conference is pleased to announce a call for scientific poster abstracts. 

Have new findings, early data, or an ongoing research project? This call is designed for research in motion (emerging research and work in progress) — projects that are recruiting, generating preliminary insights, or offering timely, ‘hot off the press’ contributions to the first responder community.

We welcome submissions in research areas such as:   

• Clinical interventions and organizational supports 

• Individual- and family-based care 

• Support for Trauma Exposed Professionals (TExP) and their families (TExF) 

• Mental wellness programs addressing trauma and operational stress 

• Preventative and educational services for public safety personnel (PSP) 

Selected submissions will focus on 1) research-ethics board approved projects that are under way, have pending peer-reviewed results, or have been recently published in a peer-reviewed article; or, 2) formal research syntheses. 

Join frontline personnel, organizational leaders, healthcare professionals, and researchers from across the Public Safety sector in Victoria, BC on November 26 and 27, 2026. Share your work and connect with colleagues dedicated to the psychological health and safety of those who protect our communities. 

Submission deadline: Thursday October 15, 2026.  

Abstracts will be peer reviewed by a scientific committee and reviews will be based on scientific quality (rigour of methods, originality, clarity, and relevance to the population). There is a limited number of poster spots available.  

Please note: Submission does not include conference registration, travel, or poster printing costs. Presenters are responsible for all associated expenses.
